[New Horizons - LDS Post]

::Standing in front of a major assembly hall is Akaba Reiji, President of Leo Corporation.

He stands there before swinging his arms outwards, his glasses shimmering:

"We are on the cusp of a new age in both in terms of the World and in Dueling. In such an age of rapid change, people look to pillars of normalcy for what they seek. And they look for heroes. Legends. And as such, it is our duty, the duty of the Leo Corporation and Kaiba Corporation, to seek forth New Horizons.

We must be bold, and take action, to find the new talent hidden in the sands of the unseen and the unknown! We must challenge our knowledge of the world! We must expand the limits of what a Duel is as far as possible! This is the ideal of the Leo Corporation! An ideal we've held since we created the Real Solid Vision System!

And we are glad to push the limits further with the help of our rivals, Kaiba Corporation and Duel Academia, who seek to push Duels to the zenith as well! Let us march forth and seize even greater heights! I expect every one of you to beyond the limits!"

He finishes and then teachers start showing up sorting and explaining various programs.

Among the options of things to do here:

A) Action Field Stamina / Obstacle Courses in the center miniature stadium behind the school, for running through various dangerous environments. Including them are a Temple of Doom set up. And a space station. Or a frozen temple. And even a volcano.

B) A Riding Duel exhibition match. Waiting for you is a girl wearing a helmet, snapping on riding gloves. You see traces of pink hair. The D-Wheel she has provided her is a modern generalized model, but she's basically picked a generic black demon-dragon esque unit.

C) Sit in on one of the Fusion, Synchro, Xyz or Ritual courses.

D) Sit on one of the above in actual training.

E) In a side stadium, there's an offer of an Exhibition match with three pros from Team Eibon waiting. Specifically, it involves a man who looks like a ninja and a man wearing a tacky zoot suit. There's a larger guy hanging back, but he's staying in the back. The man with the zoot suit seems to be turning away anyone who doesn't have a WATER Deck or at least a WATER ace to his partner.

F) If you're feeling particularly ballsy, you could enter an Exhibition match in general to show off your skills.

G) Or you could just be hanging out in the lobby, gawking at this list of Courses.::

*stepping up behind Yuya*

Interested in any of the courses here?

*Yuya turns around when he hears the voice behind him.*

Ah, I was just looking. To be honest, I don't think the LDS courses are for me.

*giving a bit of a smile*

Well, not being for you is one thing, but I was asking too if there was any part of the curriculum you're curious about.

Huh, I'm not sure really.

*He looks back at the list.*

We cover all the summoning methods at Duel Academy, though LDS goes way more deeper into the theories of them... but I already use Fusion, Synchro and XYZ... along with Pendulum summoning...
I guess Ritual is the only thing on here that I've never tried.

*He uses Fusion, Synchro, XYZ AND Pendulum??*

That's a lot of types to use in one deck... Most people usually use maybe two types at most. It's hard to balance between what summoning techniques are best for the person.

Do you regularly switch cards out?

[personal profile] pendulum_soul 2016-11-22 06:15 pm (UTC)(link)

Well, to be honest, the extra deck summons I have work well with the rest of my deck. Pendulum summoning helps in getting the materials that I need for them out and it also makes it so I can recycle those materials quickly too.
I guess there are some of them that are easier to get out than others though, but it generally seems to work together.

But... I guess in a way the extra deck cards were kinda... meant to work with my deck specifically.

I see...

But you say the only one you don't really know about in terms of your deck is Rituals?

[personal profile] pendulum_soul 2016-11-22 07:43 pm (UTC)(link)

Yeah. I've dueled people who've used them, and we've covered them at Duel Academy, so I know the general jist of how they work, but I've never had the chance to use them myself. I don't think there are any that really fit with the theme of my deck.

*he gives a bit of a laugh.*

I was about to say. Rituals are probably getting in a bit too much with a deck that already has everything else.

... How've things been going back at Duel Academy, anyway, since I've graduated? I haven't really been able to keep up with anything at all, since starting to work here. No one's been hassling you and Tsukumo again, right?

[personal profile] pendulum_soul 2016-11-22 07:56 pm (UTC)(link)

*He rubs the back of his head sheepishly.*

Haha! Yeah. I probably don't really need to be adding Rituals to it. I'm just glad I got the chance to use the other methods.

Things have been going pretty well! Other than the stuff with the Barians, Astrals and the Numbers earlier in the year, things have been really quiet actually! Yuma graduated and I moved up to Ra Yellow for my final year there.
